According to Ministerial Order no. 376/2007 of 30th March, one of IGESPAR’s responsibilities is to organise and manage the archives containing information about archaeological works and research. This is an important tool in the pursuit of archaeological policy measures and in the fulfilment of Government duties in this area.
This is an active record that is regularly updated. It is used both by staff and by the archaeological community in general. It is a major contribution for safeguarding, and studying the archaeological heritage in Portugal.
