Lisboa International Workshop. City Museums Today. New Perspectives

The project “Tripartite cooperation to developing city museology” was conceived and is promoted by the Ahmet Piristina City Archive and Museum (APIKAM) of Izmir – Turkey, in collaboration with the Lisbon City Museum and the Industrial Heritage Museum of Bologna – Italy, as has been developed this year of 2012.
City museums are more and more important in our time. Not only to help building wider perspectives about the cities’ heritage of the past but also to have an active role in structuring the culture of cities and cultural awareness in the present.
The projec and Turkey through City Museum’s experiences, enhancing the possibility to cooperate within European and Turkish City Museums and municipal museums in general.
One of the main tasks of this project is the production of three International Workshops, one in Izmir, occurred last main goal is to promote intercultural dialogue between the European Union February, one in Bologna, which took place last May, and finally this last Lisbon Workshop, on the 10th of July.
In Lisbon we will have the pleasure to count on the participation of Izmir, Bologna and Lisbon Museums, but also of the London Museum, the Amsterdam Museum and the new City Museum of Bologna, of the Genus Bononiae Foundation. We will also have the opportunity to listento presentations of three other relevant Portuguese City Museums.
