In "Pesquisa Geral" ( General search form) two groups of information are available "Bens com protecção legal" (legally protected assets) and "Património Arqueológico" (archaeological heritage). The latter is based on the Endovélico Archaeological Information and Management System.

You may also access "Pesquisa Temática" (Theme Search) in order to find information about "Património Mundial" (World Heritage) and "Itinerários e Inventários Temáticos" (Thematic Routes and Inventories), as in the case of Cistercian Routes, , Alentejo Historic Bridges, Modern Movement and others.

Registering legally protected assets is a nation-wide pioneer experience, as it includes the boundaries of the asset and those of its protection zones, a description of both, as well as georeferenced data, all of wich are available on the Internet, through the ATLAS of Municipalities or Historic Centres.

You may also search the Lists of property not included in a legally protected area. If a particular building in on this list, then it will not be necessary to seek IGESPAR’s consent for any changes to immovable property, for the exercise of the right of preference in case of property transmission or to communicate any transfer of rights. Such lists are not exhaustive for two main reasons: it may be necessary to clarify any doubts regarding the boundaries of certain buildings; on the other hand, recently built roads may still not be available in digital maps.
