Historic Centres
Abrantes, Alcochete, Alcoutim, Aveiro, Beja, Braga, Castelo Branco, Castro Marim, Celorico da Beira, Coimbra, Covilhã, Évora, Faro, Figueira da Foz, Golegã, Guarda, Guimarães, Lagos, Lamego, Mafra, Montijo, Óbidos, Odivelas, Olhão, Ourém, Palmela, Pinhel, Portalegre, Póvoa de Varzim, Santarém, Seia, Seixal, Setúbal, Silves, Sintra, Tavira, Valença, Viana do Castelo, Vila Nova de Gaia, Vila Real, Vila Real de Santo António and Vila Viçosa.
To date, 142 protocols have been signed with the municipalities for this project. Compilation of the remaining ATLASES is now underway.
In order to implement this nationwide georeferencing project, IGESPAR signs specific protocols with the municipalities so as to contribute to an integrated management of the built heritage, particularly in urban areas.
Compilation of this ATLAS has been possible thanks to the cooperation (research and confirmation) with the five Regional Directorates for Culture (North, Centre, Lisbon and Tagus Valley, Alentejo and Algarve).
Online information includes not only listed buildings, groups of buildings and sites, and buildings awaiting listing (1379), but also their protection zones (908), special protection zones (135) and non aedificandi areas (59).
Another ATLAS is also available (based on points) at a scale of 1:250 000, including all the listed buildings, groups of buildings and sites and those awaiting listing in mainland Portugal.
These ATLASES are regularly updated based on the evolution of listing processes.
