The  archaeological heritage database, also known as "Endovélico", is a management information system designed to pursue the duties of the institutions responsible for the archaeological heritage. It has played a major role as a tool for planning and administering the archaeological activity in mainland Portugal, and for conducting research and safeguarding this heritage. This system is permanently being updated and is linked to a Geographical Information System enabling territorial searches to be made and archaeological sites to be located.
