IGESPAR is responsible for different projects in different areas, namely maintenance, restoration and enhancement of monuments under its care, and also listed property belonging to other entities to which IGESPAR is linked by cooperation protocols; architectural and archaeological research projects in partnership with other entities; projects for disseminating information both through international initiatives or the establishment of partnerships with other public and private companies. The Route through World Heritage Portuguese Monuments, bringing together the Monastery of Alcobaça, Monastery of Batalha, Convent of Christ and the Monastery of Jerónimos, is a major project by IGESPAR.
